Microfantasy Monday – er Friday theme is geekery. Go thank Ang and check out the other entries.
I followed the sound of keys clacking down the hall past several open doors. The building was quiet. Not surprising since it was a holiday weekend. My heels brought their own echo to the halls as I headed to the room at the end. The soft swish of silk followed me as I stepped through the door, following the typing sounds.
I spotted you hunched over a desk, surrounded by a panoramic view of your universe. I stopped to study you as you worked seemingly undisturbed by my intrusion. The well-worn tshirt did nothing to disguise the tightly bunched muscles of your arms. I wondered idly how you got them, knowing that working out wouldn’t be your style.
I watched the images flash past on the screens: women tied, in positions of submission; men wielding paddles on soft pink skin. I’d set you the task of researching information for my new book. So far it seemed you were hard at work. In looking over the temp agencies offering I’d picked you out because you were an unashamed geek. I knew you’d be thorough; obsessed even.
I bent forward and whispered in your ear, “I see you wasted no time in immersing yourself in your search.” From my position over your shoulder I could see that the work was having a nice effect on you.
You mumbled something but didn’t even pause in your work. I felt the smile spread across my face. It’s a good thing you couldn’t see me or you’d realize that I was having the same type of internal thoughts you were, but with a little role reversal. I’d be enlisting you to help me advance my rope knotting skills very, very soon.
Very naughty! I like it!
You want to apply? *grin*
I might. What sort of qualifications exactly are you looking for?
Well perhaps we need to have a sit down and discuss that. Soon.
